God is on the move! Our S3 clubs are wrapping up their first year and we are praising God for the great things He has done. In one year we have:
- 15 members on our S3 committee
- 13 student leaders at the high school
- 14 sports teams holding S3 huddles
- one weekly campus club and one bi weekly campus club at the high school
- jut hosted our end of year event where students from both the middle and high school came together!
So I say, God is on the move!
When the student athletes of our local high school asked for a faith based club, we knew one set time would never work. This brought about the idea for individual team clubs, which we call huddles. Teams have chosen to have these on a practice or or even on a game day! With these flexible times we’ve been able to reach far more students. At the same time, we still held a campus S3 club once weekly at the high school.
My biggest blessing has come from working directly with the 13 student leaders. I am overjoyed to be part of watching students’ faith grow–in the public school! S3 is a time where they can come together to grow in their love for God and one another, united in shared beliefs and a passion for living out their faith. The huddles and club time bring a sense of community, prayer, worship, and heartfelt discussions that inspires to deepen their
spiritual journey whether at school or sports practice. Every moment spent serving, learning, and uplifting each other feels like a sacred opportunity to reflect Christ’s love and purpose where it’s needed most. We are not taking this opportunity to have Christ in our middle and high school for granted!
S3 is a true blessing, a place where we’ve built a spiritual family in unexpected places—the field, court, diamond, practice, school!

One of the most transformative aspects of my journey with S3 was the opportunity it gave me to step into a leadership role. Leading meetings not only helped me grow in confidence and accountability but also allowed me to pour into others. Watching those in attendance grow in their relationship with Christ was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I continued leading and serving in S3 through my senior year of high school. This routine of doing something “different” was the foundation that led me to be the man, husband and community leader that I’m called to be today. In 2 Corinthians 1:4 we are reminded to share with others the love that Christ gave us. Therefore I am excited to still see S3 moving in the lives of students and parents nationwide and I am humbled to be serving on the Board of Directors for this organization that so profoundly affected the trajectory of my life.
This is good news because life is FULL of struggle! So full of change! We look around and wonder why the road on which we journey seems to be filled with more unexpected turns, bumps and ditches than those traveling around us. In our ponderings, we question the onslaught of our difficulties and disappointments and like Job, of Old Testament days who was called a friend of God, we ask “Why? Is it because of the sin of my youth?” Perhaps we even question God’s goodness because we have sought to obey and love Him with not only our lips but with our life and still we feel pressed down under the heaviness of hurt.
Since my youth, although a sinner, my highest priority and purpose has been to learn, live and lead the truth… the only Truth. But my journey is not without scars.
I’m Tracy McCrea (I’m on the left in the picture with my two sisters, Julie and Terry Ann). I love S3, and not just because it was founded by my sister, Terry Ann Kelly! I have been married for 37 years to my husband Michael and we have five grown children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren. Michael and I named our property in Vanderpool, Texas “Shamar,” after the Hebrew word which means “to watch, guard, preserve.” Our desire is to preserve the land, and more importantly, guard our hearts. I enjoy painting as a way to express and share God’s faithfulness, beauty, provision and deep love for His children. When I’m not busy painting, I help Michael grow trees and vegetables.
